Attendance Requirements
A major requirement of advancement is to be active in the troop and patrol functions. Troop 98 has two types of activities: (1) Weekly Meetings and (2) Outings. In order to clarify what being "active" in our troop and patrol means the following standards must be achieved for a Scout to be considered "active". A Scout must attend as follows:
Scouts who participate in Order of the Arrow activities may include only one of these extra activities in place of a troop activity.
Scouts who do not meet the attendance requirement will have their board of review date moved back until this requirement is satisfied.
Tenderfoot, 2 nd Class and 1 st Class Ranks
The activity and camp out requirements for these ranks are spelled out in the Scout Handbook. They must also attend 70% of the weekly meetings. They should also remember that most of our activities involve camping, and they must attend ten activities to earn their 1 st Class rank, which is expected to be earned in the first year with Troop 98.
Star, Life, and Eagle Ranks
Star candidates need to attend 70% of the troop meetings and 50% of our activities (based on 1 activity per month) within the previous 4 months of the Board of Review.
Life and Eagle candidates need to attend 70% of the troop meetings and 50% of the activities (based on 1 activity per month) within the previous 6 months of the Board of Review.
