Whittlin Chit

Bear Achievement 19 Covers Safe Handling and use of a Pocket Knife.  The Whittlin chit is granted to all Scouts that have demonstrated that they know the rules of Knife safety and will responsibly carry, handle and use a knife. 

Scouts must get parent and leader permission before carrying or using a Knife.

The Whittling Chit must be carried and shown to a leader whenever a Knife is to be used.


The Whittlin Chit is only for use at designated Scout Functions. Knifes SHALL NOT be brought to Pack Meetings.  Knifes SHALL NOT be brought to School.

Violation of these rules or misuse of a Knife may result in the Whittlin Chit being revoked.
