Age appropriate
camping opportunities, Day Camps, Resident Camps, Family Camp Den Camping
and Webelos-den-troop outings, help prepare Cub Scouts to become Boy Scouts. Registration for these camps is through the Pack. See your Cubmaster for further information on these camps.
Day Camp
is a week long day camp
held in Kirkwood Part in June and is staffed with registered leaders from
the Kirkwood Area Packs. Boys will have fun while working
towards their advancement. The Pack provides leaders
to staff this camp and parents of participating Scouts must be available for
one day to attend with the Scouts.
Dad and
Lad or Mom and Me are
one night overnight camps for Scouts that have completed second grade and are held
at Greater St Louis Council Camps; Camp May at Beaumont, and S-F Scout Ranch
near Farmington. These camps introduce Scouts to area
camps and are staffed by the Council. Each Scout attends
with a guardian. Registration is through the Pack, typically in November. Fees vary annually, but generally run about $25.00 each and include the campfire program, three memorable meals, and a really cool souvenir cup.
Webelos
Mini-Camp is for
two nights and three days for Scouts that have completed third grade and
are held at Greater St Louis Council staffed Camps; Camp May at Beaumont
and S-F Scout Ranch near Farmington. Scouts will begin
work on several Activity pins. Scouts attend as a Pack
and the Pack provides adult leaders for this camp. Registration
is typically in November.
Webelos II Camp
is for five nights and six days for Scouts that have completed fourth grade and are held at Greater St Louis Council staffed Camp May at Beaumont. Scouts will complete most of several outdoor activity pins during camp. Scouts attend as a Pack and the Pack provides adult leaders for this camp. Registration is typically in November.
Pack Family Camping
is a pack organized and run camp held at the Greater St Louis Area Council’s Cub World for the entire family. A Scout attends with a guardian who will be responsible for the safety and behavior of their children. Refer to the calendar, newsletter and leaders for more information. Parents are encouraged to help prepare for this outing. (Family Camping held outside of Cub World requires Council approval via a Tour Permit)
Den Camping
is appropriate
for Webelos Dens and is organized and run by the Dens. A Scout attends with his guardian.
Den Camping prepares the Scouts for longer-term resident camp
and for joint Den-Troop outings (Den Camping requires a Tour Permit if
outside of the GSLAC Boundaries GSLAC_MAP).
Joint
Webelos den-troop outings are held to introduce a Scout and his
parents to a Boy Scout Troop. Traditionally this has
included a fall camporee and a Cabin Campout during the Webelos second year. A Scout attends with his parents or guardian. These activities
will fulfill several Arrow of Light requirements: Webelos must attend a troop
meeting, Webelos Overnight and a Boy Scout oriented outdoor activity.

The Boy Scouts of America has established the following guidelines for its
