Scouting is a family activity in which boys have fun while learning leadership, values and new skills. All one needs to bring into the Cub Scout pack is yourself, a recognition that we have a duty to God, to our Country and to our Family. The primary values we seek to instill are contained in the Cub Scout Promise--to do my best to do my duty to God and my country, to help other people, and to obey the law of the pack. Our Scouts, families, adult leaders and volunteers work together to teach these values by:

  • Influencing each Scout's character development and spiritual growth
  • Developing habits and attitudes of good citizenship
  • Encouraging good sportsmanship and pride in growing strong in mind and body
  • Improving understanding and communication within the family
  • Strengthening skills in getting along with and respecting others
  • Fostering a sense of personal achievement by developing new interests and skills
  • Providing fun and exciting things to do
  • Showing each Scout how to "do your best"
  • Preparing each Cub Scout to become a Boy Scout

Pack 369 serves the Carmichael and Fair Oaks area in northern California.  The Chartered Organization for Pack 369 is the Christ Community Church. We offer a high quality program to all boys in grades one through five. Our sons advance in rank each year, beginning with Tiger Cubs and continuing through the Arrow of Light in fifth grade. Boys participate in pack and den activities where they have fun and learn new skills. Some of the activities that the boys of Pack 369 enjoyed are:

  • Ice skating
  • Building and racing model cars
  • Singing songs
  • Camping
  • Fishing
  • Playing team building games
  • Archery
  • Bicycling
  • Swimming

Leadership Skills

Scouting teaches our young men the skills that help prepare them for a lifetime of ethical leadership. Among Scouting alumni are:

  • Almost 90% of all Senior Class and Student Council Presidents
  • More than two-thirds of all Rhodes Scholars
  • More than two-thirds of military academy graduates

Values

Research conducted by Louis Harris & Associates showed that when a random sample of Scouts was asked what Scouting had taught them, almost nine out of ten responded with the following:

  • Take better care of the environment (89%)
  • Get along with others (88%)
  • Always give your best effort (87%)
  • Have confidence in yourself (87%)
  • Set goals for yourself (87%)
  • Care for other people (86%)
  • Treat other people with respect (86%)

In addition, Scouts were found to be more likely to:

  • Assume leadership roles in clubs and school organizations
  • Put the needs of others before themselves
  • Make the most ethical, not necessarily easiest, decisions
  • Value education and the environment
